The world is about to end – yet again – on 23 September 2017 (yes, Today !), according to the latest doomsday prophecy. In my childhood I used to hear that England will be inundated under sea according to the predictions by Nostradamus. Later, I happened to see a book entitled Era ending by 1997. I was curious. The year 1997 started and ended. England was intact. So what about the prediction? Well, 1997 was the year in which England had to hand over Hong Kong to China as the 99-year lease ended. As the British flag was lowered, England I would say sank figuratively.

Today once again doomsday news is making rounds. Should we worry? Well, in the past, the world could have had “ended” in the sense of mass extinction at least five times. History tells us that people aren’t just good at interpreting the ancient relegious scriptures or predictions by nostradamus and the like on apocalypse. So I say we all relax and go about our business. I will most definitely be proved right on 24 September. (If the world does come to an end, then there would be no one alive to prove me wrong! 🙂 )
